The Mining of Association Rules Between Driver's Psycho-physiological State and Takeover Behavior

This study investigate the effects of mild sleep deprivation, driving environment, and time of day on driver takeover quality and psycho-physiological states, and further examine the associations between psycho-physiological states and takeover performance.A driving simulation experiment is conducted with 63 participants, during which physiological signals, including electrodermal activity, electrocardiogram, and respiration,as well as behavioral data, are collected.Two-way analysis of vari-ance and Pearson correlation analysis are used to examine the effects of these factors and the relationships between physiological responses and takeover behavior. In addition, the pathways influencing driver takeover performance are explored using the Apriori algorithm. The results show that mild sleep deprivation significantly increases instantaneous stress responses, shortened reaction time, and results in more aggressive steering maneuvers.Compared with rural scenarios, urban scenarios induce higher skin conductance responses and larger maximum steering wheel angles.A significant time-of-day effect is also observed, with higher electrodermal activity and respiratory rate in the afternoon than in the morning.Correlation analysis further reveal dynamic associations between physiological indicators and takeover behavior:skin conductance level is positively correlated with reaction time, heart rate is positively correlated with steering wheel angle, and respiration depth is negatively correlated with steering am-plitude.Moreover,the association rule analysis show that,in urban scenarios, sleep deprivation combining with elevated heart rate significantly improving reaction speed, suggesting that environmental stress may partially offset the negative effects of sleep deprivation. These findings provide important human factors evidence for optimizing human-machine coordination strategies in automated driving systems, particularly in time-specific physiological monitoring and the adaptive design of human-machine in-terfaces.
