Exogenous febrile disease is a general term for a class of febrile diseases.In ancient Chinese medicine,'typhoid fever''warm disease''epidemic disease''seasonal disease',etc.can be attributed to the category of'exogenous febrile disease'.The reconstruction of the'exogenous febrile disease of traditional Chinese medicine'covers hot and difficult issues such as'unification of cold and temperature'and'relationship between Chinese and Western medicine'.This paper discusses the reconstruction of exogenous febrile disease from five aspects:the category,etiology,core pathogenesis,key elements of reconstruction of syndrome differentiation and treatment system,and basic treatment principles and methods.It is concluded that the category of exogenous febrile disease should cover all kinds of acute febrile diseases.The original'six evils' etiology theory is difficult to meet the clinical needs.The core pathogenesis of exogenous febrile disease can be summarized as'yang depression/deficiency of vital qi→qi-heat transmission/deficiency of vital qi→closed syndrome/deficiency of vital qi→removal of syndrome/deficiency of vital qi→collateral disease/deficiency of vital qi'.The key elements of the reconstruction of the discrimination system of exogenous febrile disease include'stage of disease,nature of disease and location of disease'.The basic treatment principles and methods are'eliminating evil method'and'strengthening the body resistance method',and should run through the whole course of the disease.The method of eliminating evil can be divided into giving the evil to the way out,directly resisting the disease,and giving the evil to the way out combined with the treatment of resisting the disease.
