基于NHANES的内脏脂肪指数与慢性腹泻的相关性研究OA

Objective To investigate the association between the visceral adiposity index and the risk of chronic diarrhea.Methods This cross-sectional study used data from the 2005-2010 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(NHANES).Multivariable Logistic regression analyses were performed to examine the association between visceral adiposity index and chronic diarrhea.Smooth curve fitting was applied to assess a potential nonlinear dose-response relationship,and subgroup analyses were conducted.Results A total of 5699 participants were included,of whom 424(7.44％)reported chronic diarrhea and 5275(92.56％)did not.After adjustment for potential confounders,visceral adiposity index was significantly associated with chronic diarrhea[odds ratio(OR)=1.12,95％confidence interval(CI)=1.05-1.20,P=0.001].Compared with participants in the lowest quartile of visceral adiposity index(Q1:0.09-0.92),those in the highest quartile(Q4:2.44-12.73)had a higher adjusted risk of chronic diarrhea(OR=1.64,95％CI=1.20-2.24,P=0.002).Multivariable restricted cubic spline analysis indicated a linear relationship between visceral adiposity index and chronic diarrhea(P for nonlinearity=0.762).Conclusion Visceral adiposity index is independently associated with the risk of chronic diarrhea.Visceral adiposity index may serve as a potential indicator for assessing the risk of chronic diarrhea and provide valuable evidence for its prevention and management.
