Objective:To summarize the evaluation tools for nurse-patient communication competence in domestic and international contexts,outline their development processes,contents,characteristics,and limitations,and provide a reference for the development,selection,and application of nurse-patient communication tools.Methods:The system searched the literature related to the development and validation of nursing-patient communication ability assessment tools in 8 Chinese and English databases.Results:A total of 38 articles were included,covering 38 evaluation tools,comprising 26 self-assessment tools for nurses,5 patient-assessment tools,1 dual-perspective evaluation tool for both nurses and patients,5 third-party evaluator-assessed tools,and 1 tool that did not specify the evaluation method.Conclusion:Although diverse types of nurse-patient communication competence evaluation tools exist,current instruments exhibit limitations in integrating perspectives from both parties,adapting to specific contexts and populations,validating certain psychometric indicators,and demonstrating cross-cultural applicability.Further validation and refinement are warranted.
