基于多源数据TVPDI干旱指数在新疆的适用性研究OA
Study on the applicability of TVPDI drought index based on multi-source data in Xinjiang
针对新疆干旱频发、下垫面复杂且降水时空异质性极强的区域特征,基于2001-2020年MODIS、GPM等多源遥感数据,构建了融合植被、温度、降水三维信息的温度-植被-降水干旱指数(TVPDI).该指数的理论基础是空间距离模型,通过在VCI-TCI-PCI特征空间中计算像元至最湿基准点的欧氏距离来量化干旱程度.为科学评估TVP-DI在新疆的适用性,将其与VCI、TVDI、DSI等6种主流遥感干旱指数进行系统对比,并以中国高分辨率多干旱指数数据集(CHM_Drought)提供的自校准帕默尔干旱指数(scPDSI)作为独立验证基准.结果表明:(1)TVPDI与scPDSI的相关性最高(Pearson R=-0.3793),且误差指标(RMSE,MAE,Bias)均为最小,综合来看,TVPDI在新疆地区的干旱监测表现优于其他传统指数,具有一定的适用性与应用潜力.(2)应用TVPDI对新疆2001-2020年生长季(5-9月)的干旱时空特征分析表明,近20 a干旱化趋势总体轻微缓和,但存在显著年际波动;空间上呈现"西低东高、北低南高、山区低盆地高"的稳定格局.(3)基于Hurst指数的未来趋势分析进一步表明,7月干旱呈持续加重趋势的像元占比在5-9月各月中最高,反映出该月份未来干旱演变趋势的不确定性与持续性特征相对突出.本研究系统评估了TVPDI在新疆的适用性,其应用成果为区域的干旱精准监测与风险管理提供了科学依据.
This study addresses the unique challenges,namely,frequent droughts,complex terrain,and extreme spatiotemporal variability in precipitation,associated with the region of Xinjiang by employing the temperature-vegetation-precipitation drought index(TVPDI).Utilizing multi-source MODIS and GPM remote sensing data from 2001 to 2020,TVPDI integrates vegetation,temperature,and precipitation information into a three-dimen-sional spatial distance model.This model quantifies drought severity by calculating the Euclidean distance from each pixel to a designated wettest reference point within the vegetation condition index(VCI)-thermal condition index(TCI)-precipitation condition index(PCI)feature space.To rigorously assess TVPDI's suitability for Xinji-ang,we systematically compare it with six widely used remote sensing drought indices,including VCI,TVDI,and DSI.The self-calibrated Palmer drought severity index(scPDSI)from the China High-resolution Multi-drought Index Dataset(CHM_Drought)serves as an independent validation benchmark.Results show that TVP-DI exhibits the strongest correlation with scPDSI(Pearson R=-0.3793)and the lowest error metrics(root mean square error,mean absolute error,and Bias),demonstrating superior drought monitoring performance compared to traditional indices and confirming its applicability and potential in Xinjiang.Applying TVPDI to analyze the spatiotemporal characteristics of drought during Xinjiang's growing season(May-September)from 2001 to 2020 reveals a slight overall alleviation of drought conditions over the two decades,despite significant interannual vari-ability.Spatially,a consistent pattern emerges:"lower in the west than in the east,lower in the north than in the south,and lower in mountainous areas than in basins."Furthermore,a future trend analysis using the Hurst expo-nent showed that July had the highest proportion of pixels with persistent drought intensification in the period of May to September,indicating relatively prominent persistence and uncertainty in future drought evolution for this month.This study systematically evaluates TVPDI's applicability in Xinjiang,providing a scientific basis for pre-cise drought monitoring and risk management in the region.
