This study aims to investigate the impact of digital innovation on new quality productivity,with a particular focus on its spatial spillover effects.Based on data from 30 provinces,autonomous re-gions,and municipalities in China spanning from 2010 to 2022,the study constructs a theoretical framework linking digital innovation and new quality productivity.It then empirically tests the hypoth-eses using multiple regression analyses,robustness checks,as well as mediation and spatial effect models.The findings indicate that:① Digital innovation has a significant positive effect on new quality productivity,demonstrating high explanatory power both in its direct impact and after controlling for external economic variables.② The regional human capital structure plays a mediating role in the pro-cess,as digital innovation further enhances new quality productivity by increasing the proportion of high-end talent.③ Additionally,digital innovation exhibits significant spatial spillover effects;its de-velopment not only drives growth in local new quality productivity but also promotes high-quality economic development in neighboring regions through mechanisms such as knowledge sharing and in-dustrial synergy.This study provides a theoretical basis for understanding the mechanisms between digital innovation and new quality productivity and offers policy insights for regional collaborative de-velopment and industrial transformation and upgrading.
