A paradoxical clinical condition,characterized by the concurrence of recurrent"exuberant heat"symptoms and definitive signs of Yang deficiency,is commonly observed in individuals with chronic sleep deprivation.Drawing on LI Dong-yuan's classic theory of"Yin fire"and integrating contemporary clinical observations,the"Yang-deficiency Yin fire"syndrome is proposed and systematically elucidated.Its core pathogenesis is defined as"spleen-kidney Yang deficiency with floating of deficient Yang",representing a refinement and contextual extension of the classical Yin fire theory in the modern era.The pathogenetic trajectory from"Yang consumption due to sleep deprivation"to"floating of deficient Yang"is systematically delineated,and its parallels with the mechanisms of chronic low-grade inflammation are explored.This syndrome is essentially a chronic functional condition with root deficiency and branch excess.Accordingly,treatment should adhere to the principle of"warming Yang to subdue fire and guiding fire back to its origin",with Qianyang Fengsui Dan(Hiding Yang and Sealed Marrow Pill)as the representative prescription.This framework offers a novel perspective for diagnosing and treating disorders characterized by a"cold-heat complex",emphasizing the necessity of moving beyond the conventional approach of"clearing heat to treat inflammation".It advocates for identifying the root cause through rigorous pattern differentiation and prioritizing therapies that warm,tonify,subdue,and consolidate.
