The lyrics of Jin Zhaofeng,a lyricist in the late Qing and early Republic of China are mainly preserved in the Shicuixuan Ci Manu-script.His lyrics were created intensively when he served in the Qing History Museum and joined the Geng Society.Most of the people in the Qing His-tory office are the survivors of the late Qing Dynasty.With the old ministers of the previous dynasty,they continued the new history of the emperor.Most of their words reveal the thoughts of their home country.Half of Jin Zhaofeng's ci works were written at this time.His works often have the feel-ings of nostalgia for the home country and longing for seclusion.After joining the society,there are not only old acquaintances of the previous history office,but also some new friendships.The scope of communication has expanded,coupled with the founding purpose of the society,and there is often concern about the continuation of society and culture in its lyrics.However,after entering the society,the feelings of worry he expressed were very dif-ferent from the feelings of the previous survivors.From the history office to the poetry club,the subject of Jin Zhaofeng's lyrics has not changed much,mostly focussing on inscriptions and hymns.Although the inscription is a work of socialising,the changes in the ci realm reflected from it are worth paying attention to.As a case,a detailed examination of Jin Zhaofeng's communication and lyricism in the two periods of the historical office and the society can provide a vivid example for the mental transformation of the Qing Dynasty and the situation of the Republic of China in the late Qing Dy-nasty.
