Cervids are diverse,comprising 4 subfamilies and 16 genera,and they are widely distributed.Bovine viral diarrhea virus(BVDV),epizootic hemorrhagic disease virus(EHDV)in deer,foot-and-mouth disease virus(FMDV),and others are common viruses that deer are susceptible to.These viruses have broad host ranges and diverse transmission routes,enabling interspecies transmission and vector-borne transmission,and they can cause clinical manifestations in the respiratory,digestive,and reproductive systems.As deer are important economic animals,their susceptible viruses not only affect wild animal resources but also lead to economic losses in the livestock industry.This review summarizes susceptible viruses in cervids,the symptoms after viral infection,and detection methods,with the aim of providing references to strengthen the prevention and control of susceptible viral diseases in cervids.
