Chronic cough is a prevalent condition in respiratory clinics,seriously impacting patients'quality of life and imposing economic burdens.Nationally renowned TCM physician HASIMU Maimaiti,with over 50 years of clinical practice,has accumulated extensive experience and developed unique academic insights into treating chronic cough.He emphasizes interpreting traditional Uyghur medical theories through modern science,pursuing integrated development of traditional Uyghur medicine and modern medicine.His academic thought centers on holistic view and syndrome differentiation,highlighting the balance of body humors,regulation of temperament,and reinforcement of governing organ function.Clinically,he prioritizes precise temperament differentiation and flexible application of characteristic traditional Uyghur medicinal materials and formulas.Additionally,he advocates the synergistic application of diversified interventions including combined internal and external therapies,dietary therapy,daily regimen regulation,and dietary contraindications,offering patients comprehensive treatment strategies.This paper systematically summarizes HASIMU Maimaiti's academic thought and clinical experience in managing chronic cough,aiming to provide novel perspectives and methods for clinical diagnosis and treatment of chronic cough and advance the application of traditional Uyghur medicine in the treatment of respiratory diseases.
