Through investigation of ancient books and the sorting of modern research achievements of traditional Chinese medicine,combined with the understanding and application experience of famous experts and scholars in desciplinary fields such as traditional Chinese medicine clinical medicine and science of Chinese materia medica,it is concluded that Pogostemonis Herba mainly has the effects of eliminating dampness with aromatics,harmonizing the middle energizer to stop vomiting,and inducing diaphoresis to dispel summer-heat.The symptom targets are vomiting,diarrhea,distention and fullness,and cold.Biochemical indicator target is helicobacter pylori infection(HP positive).Modern pharmacological studies have found that Pogostemonis Herba and its active components have the effects of protecting gastrointestinal tract,resisting pathogenic microorganisms,analgesic,antipyretic,antioxidant,anti-atherosclerosis,anti-tumor and regulating immune system.This product has good safety,is non-toxie,and slightly warm in nature.It is contraindicated for those with yin deficiency and excessive internal heat.The commonly used clinical dosage is 3-30 g.
