Importance of the early recognition, early suspicion, and early treatment for malignant hyperthermia crisis: two case reportsOA
Malignant hyperthermia(MH) is a rare anesthetic emergency that presents as a hypermetabolic response in genetically susceptible individuals exposed to volatile anesthetics or succinylcholine, and MH is also defined as a pharmacogenetic disorder of sarcoplasmic reticulum disorder of skeletal muscle. The pathophysiology of MH includes the trigger stimulus leads to an imbalance in intracellular calcium homeostasis, which leads to a continuous increase in calcium in the sarcoplasm and the continuous contraction of skeletal muscle.
