Acupuncture at the sphenopalatine ganglion is a distinctive technique for treating rhinitis established by Chief Physician Li Xinwu based on the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine after years of surgical prac-tice and grassroots research on traditional Chinese medicine.It is simple to operate and has good safety.Since its first ap-plication in the 1960s,its unique advantage of"one needle for multiple treatments"has gradually been extended to various otorhinolaryngological diseases.This article systematically reviews the anatomical location of the sphenopalatine ganglion,its clinical applications in some otorhinolaryngological diseases and the mechanism of action,and discusses its future devel-opment direction in combination with relevant research,aiming to provide references for clinical practice and scientific re-search.
