Pediatric pneumonia presents a complex and often protracted disease course,characterized by mixed deficiency and excess,as well as concurrent cold and heat patterns.Drawing on PENG Ziyi's"circular motion"theory and over fifty years of clinical experience,Professor ZHANG Shiqing proposes that the primary disease location in pediatric pneumonia is the lung,which frequently involves the liver,heart,spleen,and kidney.The core pathogenesis is identified as"disordered qi movement and impaired pivotal regulation."Ac-cordingly,he establishes the fundamental treatment principles of"regulating qi movement and harmonizing yin and yang."In clinical practice,formulas are selected based on the pathogenesis:Shengjiang San(升降散)for lung-stomach stagnant heat with blocked bowel qi,Xiaochaihu Tang(小柴胡汤)for pathogen invading the sha-oyang with compromised pivotal function,and Maxing Shigan Tang(麻杏石甘汤)for heat pathogen congesting the lung with excessive qi-phase heat.By regulating the pivotal function of the spleen and stomach in the middle burner,along with the ascending and descending of qi in the liver-lung and heart-kidney axes,the smooth flow of qi in the five viscera is restored,the triple burner is regulated,and recovery is achieved.One case example is provided for validation.
