"Eight methods for stroke"in Jin Gui Yi were established as the criteria for the syndrome differentiation and treatment of stroke in later generations,including opening and closing,stagnation and diarrhea,discharging great evil energy,transforming Qi,expelling phlegm and saliva,removing wind-heat evil,dredging orifices and tunnels,and moxibustion at acupoints.According to You Yi's theory on the etiology and pathogenesis of stroke,stroke is divided into true stroke and similar stroke.The core pathogenesis of stroke is the dysregulation of Qi.The lesions of viscera and meridians of stroke are different in order,shallow and deep.This article specifically analyzes the theory and the syndrome of the eight methods for stroke and their inspiration and guidance for the clinical treatment of contemporary stroke.Each of the eight methods has its own advantages,and its usage is different,but regulating Qi is the same of the eight methods.All of them take regulating Qi and unblocking meridians as the core,and the purpose is always to regulate Yin and Yang,promote blood circulation.
