Orthodontic therapy requires that tooth move-ment be achieved safely and stably within the reconstructed al-veolar bone,ultimately establishing occlusal relationships that are both functionally and esthetically harmonious.Therefore,the efficacy of orthodontic tooth movement is closely related to the interaction between teeth and the alveolar bone.In clini-cal practice,periodontists can utilize bone augmentation tech-niques to supplement bone graft materials in regions with in-sufficient alveolar bone volume,thereby creating a favorable periodontal foundation for subsequent dental treatments in-volving orthodontics,prosthodontics,and implant dentistry.In orthodontic-periodontal treatment,bone augmentation tech-niques also enhance orthodontic outcomes by providing the necessary bone tissue support for safe tooth movement,repre-senting a critical link for close collaboration between orthodon-tists and periodontists.This article elaborates on the applica-tion strategies and potential influencing factors of periodontal bone augmentation techniques in the context of orthodontic treatment.
