Magnolia officinalis,as a significant traditional Chinese medicinal herb,has a long and diverse history of processing techniques.This article aimed to explore the historical evolution of Magnolia officinalis processing and the classical formulas developed during different historical periods.Ancient processing methods included purification,shredding,dry-frying(Qingchao),and processing with solid or liquid adjuvants.In modern times,methods such as ginger-frying,ginger-boiling,and ginger-juice soaking are commonly employed.From the Han to the Qing Dynasty,the processing methods for Magnolia officinalis continuously developed and refined,forming various processing techniques and theories.These methods not only enhance the herb's efficacy but also reduce its irritancy,thereby improving its clinical safety and efficacy.Furthermore,this article selects several classical formulas to provide a detailed analysis of the application and therapeutic effects of processed Magnolia officinalis within these renowned prescriptions.Through textual research,it is evident that the processing history of Magnolia officinalis holds significant importance in ancient Chinese medicine.Its processing methods and theories continue to exert a profound influence on the development of modern Chinese medicinal processing technology.
