Experimental study on the sand control effectiveness of combined PE net and reed barriers along railways in sandy areas

风沙灾害是威胁沙区铁路安全运行的主要因素之一.为探究不同组合沙障的防沙性能,基于风洞实验与数值模拟,系统分析了PE网与芦苇沙障在多种布设排列方式下的削风与控沙效果.结果表明单排芦苇沙障的风速削减达45%,显著优于单排PE网的32%;双排芦苇沙障之间形成稳定的低速区,风速下降超60%,控风效果明显优于双排PE网结构."前柔后刚"组合沙障中PE网-芦苇控沙性能最佳,总输沙量约为单排PE网的三分之一.在高风速条件下,前PE网后芦苇组合仍保持良好的削风和积沙调控能力,可构建扰动-沉积-稳定的多段式防护机制,是提升沙区铁路风沙防控的有效路径.

Wind-sand hazards are one of the primary threats to the safe operation of railways in sandy regions.To evaluate the sand control performance of different sand barrier combinations,this study systematically ana-lyzes the wind reduction and sand control effects of various layouts of PE net and reed barrier through wind tunnel experiments and numerical simulations.Results show that a single row of reed barrier can reduce wind speed by up to 45%,significantly outperforming the 32%reduction achieved by a single row of PE net.A double row of reed barrier forms a stable low-velocity zone between the structures,with wind speed reduction exceeding 60%,demonstrating better wind control than double PE net.Among combined barriers,the"flexi-ble front and rigid rear"configuration(PE net-reed)exhibits the best sand control performance,the total sand transport rate is about one-third of that with the single PE net.Under high wind speeds,this configuration maintains effective wind reduction and sand deposition regulation,forming a multi-stage protection mechanism of disturbance-deposition-stabilization.It offers a promising approach for enhancing wind-sand hazard control in railway systems across sandy regions.
