Artificial Intelligence Application Intensity,Information Disclosure Quality,and Green Innovation Performance

人工智能已成为企业提升竞争力和创新能力的关键因素,但现有研究对企业层面应用强度的连续差异及其经由信息披露质量发挥作用的传导机制仍缺乏系统考察.文中以2015-2023年A股制造业上市公司为研究样本,采用文本分析方法,以企业年度报告管理层讨论与分析部分中人工智能关键词出现频次构建连续性应用强度指标,就人工智能应用强度对绿色创新绩效的作用及研发投入强度的边界条件展开实证考察.结果表明,人工智能应用强度的提升能够有效带动企业绿色创新水平的提高;当企业研发投入强度较高、绿色创新基数已相对充裕时,人工智能应用带来的边际绿色创新增量相对有限.机制研究表明,人工智能应用强度通过提高企业信息披露的规范性与透明度,降低外部利益相关者的信息不确定性,进而激励企业持续推进绿色技术创新.异质性分析发现,人工智能应用强度对绿色创新绩效的促进效应在国有企业、非重污染行业及大规模企业中更为显著.

Artificial intelligence has emerged as a critical driver of corporate competitiveness and inno-vation capability.However,existing literature lacks systematic investigation into the continuous variation in AI application intensity at the firm level and the transmission mechanism through which AI operates via information disclosure quality.Drawing on a sample of A-share manufacturing listed companies from 2015 to 2023,this study constructs a continuous AI application intensity indicator by counting the fre-quency of AI-related keywords in the Management Discussion and Analysis sections of annual reports using text analysis,and empirically examines the effect of AI application intensity on green innovation performance alongside the boundary conditions imposed by R&D investment intensity.The results indi-cate that higher AI application intensity effectively promotes improvements in corporate green innova-tion performance;however,when a firm's R&D investment intensity is relatively high and its green in-novation base is already well-established,the marginal green innovation increment brought by AI appli-cation is correspondingly limited.Mechanism analysis reveals that AI application intensity encourages firms to continuously advance green technological innovation by enhancing the standardization and transparency of corporate information disclosure,thereby reducing information uncertainty among exter-nal stakeholders.Heterogeneity analysis further shows that the promoting effect of AI application inten-sity on green innovation performance is more pronounced among state-owned enterprises,firms operat-ing in non-heavily polluting industries,and large-scale enterprises.
