Effects of Non-genetic Factors on Birth Weight and Body Measurements in Xinjiang Huaxi Cattle

为探讨非遗传因素对新疆华西牛初生重、初生体尺的影响,采用R语言中的一般线性模型,分析养殖场、出生年份、出生季节和性别4个非遗传因素对华西牛初生重及体尺性状的影响,并利用单性状动物模型和多性状动物模型估计了初生重及初生体尺性状的遗传参数.结果表明,出生年份对初生重和腹围有极显著影响(P<0.01),出生季节对体尺性状有显著影响(P<0.05).初生重、十字部高、体高、体斜长、胸围、腹围和管围的遗传力分别是0.28、0.66、0.47、0.77、0.61、0.51和0.36,初生重和管围属于中等遗传力性状,其余均属于高遗传力性状.体高和体斜长的遗传相关系数最高(0.99),体高与十字部高的表型相关系数最高(0.98).

To investigate the impact of non-genetic factors on the birth weight and body measurements in Xinjiang Huaxi cattle,this study employed a general linear model in R language to analyze the impact of four non-genetic factors(farm,year of birth,season of birth,and sex)on birth weight and body measure-ment traits in Huaxi Cattle.Genetic parameters of these traits were estimated using both single-trait and multiple-trait animal models.The results indicated that birth year had a highly significant effect on birth weight and abdominal circumference(P<0.01),while season significantly influenced all body measure-ments(P<0.05).The heritability estimates for birth weight,body height,hip cross height,body length,chest girth,abdominal circumference,and cannon circumference were 0.28,0.47,0.66,0.77,0.61,0.51,and 0.36,respectively.Birth weight and cannon circumference exhibited moderate heritability,while the other traits demonstrated high heritability.The highest genetic correlation was observed between body height and body length(0.99),while the highest phenotypic correlation was between body height and hip cross height(0.98).
