Cancerous fever is a common clinical symptom in patients with malignant tumors.Its prolonged course and recurrent episodes severely impair patients'quality of life.Based on Li Dongyuan's theory of original qi,Professor WU Yu considers spleen and stomach weakness to be the core pathogenesis of cancerous fever.In the early stage,the main pathological mechanisms involve insufficiency of original qi,internal generation of yin fire,and heat transformation due to stagnation.In the middle and late stages,disharmony between qi and fire may occur,with cold affecting the middle energizer in the terminal stage,resulting in the concurrent manifestation of cold and heat symptoms.During treatment,the early stage emphasizes replenishing original qi,raising yang qi,and reducing yin fire.In the middle and late stages,warming kidney yang is incorporated as needed.The approaches of resolving phlegm and dissipating masses,as well as removing toxin and eliminating blood stasis,are applied throughout the entire course of treatment.Satisfactory clinical outcomes have been achieved.
