Pediatric mental disorders face numerous challenges in diagnosis and treatment due to their unique clinical disease spectrum,specific patient characteristics,and severe impacts on society and families.Professor ZHAI Shuangqing has summarized the concepts of Huangdi's Internal Classic and emphasized the application of theories including Xiang,yin-yang,the five elements,and essence and qi in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric mental disorders.He highlights the clinical application of academic concepts such as"Xiang as the guiding principle",yin-yang interaction,the substance-function relationship of the five Zang organs,and the"spirit-qi"correlation.Professor ZHAI proposes that the clinical diagnosis and treatment of pediatric mental disorders should begin with Xiang-based thinking,categorizing children's symptoms into six Xiang types:stagnation,phlegm,wind,fire,toxicity,and deficiency.In terms of pathogenesis,it is necessary to clarify the evolution and developmental stages of the"stagnation-phlegm-toxicity-deficiency"pathological mechanism.In terms of treatment,he establishes a diagnostic and therapeutic strategy centered on"regulating qi to stabilize the spirit,examining Xiang for medication selection,and applying stage-based treatment",with flexible modifications according to children's specific symptoms,pathological evolution,and age groups.Meanwhile,he emphasizes the application of characteristic medicines,including mineral drugs,anthelmintic drugs,and aromatic drugs.
