农业保险购买对农户低碳生产行为的影响OACHSSCD

Promoting farmers'low-carbon production is a crucial measure for achieving the twin goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality and addressing climate change.Based on micro-survey data of rice-growing households from eight provinces in the 2022 China Rural Revitalization Survey(CRRS),this study employs the propensity score matching(PSM)method and instrumental variable approach to address sample selection bias and endogeneity issues,examining the impact of agricultural insurance purchase and digital literacy on farmers'low-carbon production behavior.The findings show that purchasing agricultural insurance significantly promotes farmers'low-carbon production behavior,and this conclusion remains valid after addressing endogeneity and undergoing a series of robustness tests;The improvement of farmers'digital literacy reinforces the positive effect of agricultural insurance on their low-carbon production behavior,further increasing the likelihood of such behavior;Further analysis reveals that after purchasing agricultural insurance,male farmers and those with higher family income levels are more motivated to implement low-carbon production behavior.Accordingly,it is suggested to increase the coverage of agricultural insurance while expanding insurance products related to low-carbon production,enhance farmers'digital literacy,and give full play to the leading role of male and high-income farmers to facilitate the transition to green and low-carbon agriculture.
