Mozi's educational thought is an integral part of traditional Chinese educational thought.The high-quality development of vocational education necessitates drawing nourishment from Mozi's educational thought,adhering to the principle of adapting ancient wisdom to modern practice and innovating upon traditional heritage.Fundamentally,Mozi's educational thought features benefit-oriented education,with its philosophical foundation grounded in an epistemological system that values personal cognition and the criterion that all arguments must satisfy three fundamental principles.In terms of its core connotations,Mozi's educational thought primarily includes:adhering to the theory of raw silk as the starting point of education;grouping farmers and artisans as the educational subjects and committing to cultivating them into erudite scholars dedicated to shouldering the welfare of the world;prioritizing scientific and technological knowledge as the core educational content;advocating practical labor practice as a key educational method to distinguish categories and clarify inherent causes;constructing the Juzi system to standardize teacher-student relations;and upholding the educational principles of moderate practice and personalized teaching.Rooted in the benefit-oriented essence of Mozi's educational thought,the contemporary development of China's vocational education needs to strengthen humanistic care for farmers and artisan groups,inherit and carry forward traditional crafts via the Juzi system,and foster national-level master artisans who uphold the unity of knowledge and action.Furthermore,vocational education should consolidate theoretical research,fulfill its core responsibilities,and actively seek external collaboration,so as to further boost the standardized and high-quality development of a category in the educational system.
