The intersection of immunology and nanotechnology indeed represents a significant frontier in biomedical research and clinical applications.Immunotherapy can effectively addresses a multitude of diseases,encompassing autoimmune syndromes,cancer,as well as inflammatory and infectious disorders.Recent developments in materials science and nanotechnology have provided substantial new opportunities for advancing immunotherapy.Engineered nanomaterials,including polymer,lipid,gold nanoparticles(Au NPs),iron oxide nanoparticles(IONPs),silver nanoparticles(Ag NPs),and silica nanoparticles along with diverse forms of cell-derived extracellular vesicles,are designed to elicit potent immune responses and achieve controllable immune modulation.To celebrate the rapid application development of nanomaterials and nanotechnology focusing on immunomodulation,this Special Issue entitled“Nanomaterials for Immunomodulation”is an innovative collection of reviews that summarize recent breakthrough in modulating immune signaling pathways,reshaping immune microenvironments,and cancer immunotherapy.
