Atomically engineered nanozymes(AEN):Revolutionizing catalytic immunemodulation for biomedical advancesOA

Immunotherapy holds enormous potential to improve treatment results,however,the low response rate remains a significant challenge.Conventional immunomodulatory methods often cause off-target effects,limited specificity,and systemic toxicity.To address these issues,new catalytic nanomaterials have emerged as a promising approach to boost catalytic immunotherapy by steering the immune response through specific biochemical reactions.Atomically engineered nanozymes(AENs)are an advanced field in biomedical research,combining precise nanotechnology with catalytic functions to enhance immune regulation.This review examines the design,synthesis,and application of AENs as multifunctional tools for progressing therapies in immunotherapy and disease diagnostics.AENs leverage atomic-level control to mimic natural enzyme functions,improving stability,tunability,and specificity for accurate immune response control.In this review,we highlight their mechanisms,including their ability to modulate reactive oxygen species(ROS),activate immune signaling pathways,and overcome traditional therapy limitations.Finally,we discuss challenges related to scalability and clinical translation,along with future directions for integrating AENs into personalized medicine and immune-engineering strategies.
