Multi-Physics Thermal Analysis and Structural Optimization of an ElectromagnetOA
Finite element software was used to study the variation pattern of temperature and thermal stress of a certain type of electromagnet with its power, and analyze the influence of the weld length of the magnetic isolation ring on the thermal performance and local thermal stress of the electromagnet,so as to improve the working stability and reliability of the existing electromagnet. The simulation results show that the maximum temperature, maximum thermal stress, and maximum deformation of the electromagnet increase linearly with the increase of coil power;in addition, when there is a gap between the magnetic isolation ring and the shell, the local stress at both ends of the gap will increase, and the local thermal stress at the end point of the gap increases significantly with the increase of width, which endangers the service performance and service life of the electromagnet. After analyzing the influence of the gap size on the local thermal stress of the electromagnet,it is found that the gap should not be larger than O.8 mm,where the local thermal stress is small, and the weld penetration should be no less than O.7 mm,providing a basis for the welding process of electromagnets or solenoid valves with similar structures.
