Analysis of application and approved projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in a university-affiliated hospital in Northwest China from 2014 to 2025
目的 分析2014-2025年新疆医科大学第一附属医院国家自然科学基金申报与立项情况,评估科研发展态势,剖析存在的问题,为提升科研管理效能和实现高质量发展提供对策建议.方法 收集该医院2014-2025年国家自然科学基金申请与立项的详细数据,采用描述性统计和χ2检验等方法,从项目类型、学科与科室分布及负责人特征等多个维度进行分析.结果 12年间该院立项率达12.9%,申报量持续增长,立项数长期徘徊在20～40项/年.项目类型结构不均,以地区基金为主体(立项占比85.2%,立项率13.5%),面上项目(立项率12.7%)突破困难,青年基金立项率仅4.2%.学科与科室分布高度集中在循环系统、肿瘤学等优势学科;心血管病中心等少数科室立项占比达40%.作为申报主力的41～50岁中年科研骨干立项率仅10.3%;入职1～3年的青年科研人员具有较高立项潜力(立项率18.39%).结论 针对当前申报体系中存在的结构性短板,医院可通过强化平台支撑、精准培育青年人才及促进学科交叉融合,实现科研竞争力质的飞跃,为建设高水平研究型医院奠定坚实基础.
Objective To analyze the application and approved situation of the National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC)in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from 2014 to 2025,evaluate the scientific research development trend,identify existing problems,and provide countermeasures to improve research management efficiency and achieve high-quality development.Methods Detailed data regarding NSFC applications and approvals from 2014 to 2025 were collected.Descriptive statistics and chi-square tests were employed to conduct a multi-dimensional analysis covering project types,distribution across disciplines and departments,and characteristics of principal investigators.Results During the 12-year period,the overall approval rate of the hospital reached 12.9%.While the number of applications grew continuously,the number of approved projects remained stagnant at 20-40 per year.The structure of funded projects was imbalanced:Regional Funds constituted the mainstay(accounting for 85.2%of total approvals with a 13.5%success rate),while Major Projects proved difficult to secure(success rate 12.7%),and the success rate for Youth Science Funds was only 4.2%.Furthermore,the distribution of projects was highly concentrated in dominant disciplines,such as the circulatory system and oncology;A few departments,including the Cardiovascular Center,accounted for 40%of the total approvals.Middle-aged researchers aged 41-50,who served as the main force in applications,had a relatively low approval rate of 10.3%.Conversely,young researchers with 1-3 years of employment demonstrated high potential,achieving an approval rate of 18.39%.Conclusion Addressing the structural shortcomings identified in the current application system,hospitals can achieve a qualitative leap in scientific research competitiveness by strengthening platform support,precisely cultivating young talents and promoting interdisciplinary integration,laying a solid foundation for building a high-level research-oriented hospital.
