Australia has notified the WTO Secretariat regarding guidelines for the evaluation of overseas pre-export testing programs exporting uncooked prawns(G/SPS/N/AUS/625),publishing"Animal Biosecu-rity Advice 2025-A09:Guidelines for the evaluation of overseas pre-export testing programs exporting uncooked prawns to Australia".The external review comments are as follows:Firstly,Australia is requested to provide specific conditions for the equivalence recognition of the PETP for raw prawns,along with a com-plete set of evaluation indicators.Secondly,scientific evidence should be provided to justify the practice of conducting additional sampling tests upon arrival for raw prawn products that have already passed the PETP equivalence evaluation.Thirdly,Australia should submit complete validation data for the detection method of White Spot Syndrome Virus(WSSV)and provide scientific justification for the requirements related to its Export Holding Facilities(EHF).The internal recommendations include conducting in-depth research on Australia's risk concerns,protection level settings,and equivalence evaluation criteria system regarding these measures.Additionally,it is suggested to strengthen proactive monitoring and disease eradication ef-forts in domestically registered aquaculture farms to systematically reduce disease risks at the production source.
