"专精"抑或"博涉":研究领域跨度对博士生学术发表的影响OACHSSCD

Based on the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)dissertation publication data of 6,175 doctoral students in education from 41 universities in China from 2015 to 2024,an empirical analysis was made on the impact of research field span on the quantity and quality of academic publications,revealing that:there is a significant positive correlation between research field span and the quantity of academic publications,but it has a significant negative impact on the quality of publications;heterogeneity analysis shows that the negative effect of research field dispersion on quality is significant in the short term,but gradually diminishes in the long term;under the conditions of strong individual scientific research ability,high level of institution,and obvious disciplinary advantages,the negative effect of research field dispersion on the quality of publication is significantly attenuated.Meanwhile,interdisciplinarity has a significant moderating effect on the impact of field span on publication quality:if field span originates from interdisciplinary fusion,its negative impact on publication quality decreases and may even improve the quality.Based on this,it is suggested that doctoral students should focus on deep cultivation of their fields in the early stage of their academic growth in order to consolidate their foundation,and expand their innovation through interdisciplinary integration in the later stage;colleges and universities and other parties should optimize the interdisciplinary resource support and evaluation system,so as to balance the dialectic between"specialization"and"crossover"in the process of pedagogical research and doctoral training.
