Side-channel Attack on SMBA Cryptographic Algorithm Based on CPA
为评估SMBA分组密码算法在物理实现中的侧信道安全性,文章以该算法的白化变换环节作为攻击目标,设计并验证了一套完整的相关能量分析(CPA)攻击方案.对 SMBA-128-128 算法无防护物理实现过程采集 10 000 条随机明文对应的功耗曲线.通过猜测加密子密钥值将白化变换的输出结果映射到汉明重量模型中,最后计算假设功耗曲线与加密过程中采集到的真实能耗曲线的皮尔逊相关系数完成密钥甄别.实验结果表明,所提 CPA 攻击方法可成功恢复 SMBA-128-128 算法的敏感加密子密钥,证明该算法无防护物理实现在侧信道攻击面前存在显著安全风险,为该算法工程化部署的侧信道防护提供了关键实验依据.
To evaluate the side-channel security of the SMBA block cipher algorithm in physical implementation,this article takes the whitening transformation stage of the algorithm as the attack target and designs and verifies a complete Correlation Power Analysis(CPA)attack scheme.Power consumption traces corresponding to 10 000 random plaintexts are collected during the unprotected physical implementation of the SMBA-128-128 algorithm.By guessing the encryption subkeys,the output of the whitening transformation is mapped to the Hamming weight model to construct the hypothetical power consumption.Finally,the Pearson correlation coefficient between the hypothetical power consumption traces and the real power consumption traces collected during the encryption process is calculated to complete the key identification.The experimental results show that the proposed CPA attack method can successfully recover the sensitive encryption subkeys of the SMBA-128-128 algorithm,proving that the unprotected physical implementation of the algorithm faces significant security risks against side-channel attacks.This provides a key experimental basis for the engineering deployment of side-channel protection for the algorithm.
