The performance of steel wire ropes can directly affect the safe operation of passenger ropeways.Steel wire ropes in passenger ropeways exposed to marine atmospheric environments face severe corrosion challenges.The working characteristics of steel wire ropes are presented,the features of marine atmospheric environments are analyzed.On this basis,the specific corrosion mechanisms of steel wire ropes under marine atmospheric conditions,including electrochemical corrosion,stress corrosion,and corrosion fatigue,are discussed in detail.Finally,comprehensive protective measures against marine atmospheric corrosion are proposed from perspectives such as material optimization,surface protection,lubrication maintenance,and environmental control.Future research directions are also outlined,aiming to enhance the safety,reliability,and service economy of steel wire ropes in passenger ropeways operating in marine atmospheric environments.
