This study investigates the alteration characteristics of host rocks and optimizes prospecting indicators for iron ore deposits.By analyzing alteration types,mineral assemblages,and spatial distribution patterns in various as-hosted iron ore deposits,the research reveals the intrinsic connection between host rock alteration and iron ore formation.It highlights limitations of traditional macro geological,mineral,and geochemical prospecting indicators,such as difficulties in identifying deep-seated concealed deposits and susceptibility to interference.The paper proposes three optimization strategies:establishing alteration mineral assemblage indicators,developing zonal alteration pattern markers,and creating geochemical indicators for alteration minerals.These approaches provide more precise and effective guidance for iron ore exploration,thereby enhancing prospecting efficiency and success rates.
