Collaboration between the eastern and western regions is a major original institutional arrangement crafted and established by the Communist Party of China based on China's fundamental national conditions as a large country and in line with the objective laws governing economic and social development.Its theoretical root lies in Comrade Deng Xiaoping's strategic conception of the"two major overall situations".Tempered through long-term practice,it has evolved into a core theoretical category featuring original value and distinctive connotations within the theoretical system of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.Based on over 30 years of practical progress of collaboration between the eastern and western regions,this paper systematically explores the theoretical origin and phased practical evolution,and elaborates on its core theoretical connotations,multi-dimensional contemporary value,and the phased development characteristics.It further clarifies the practical paths and the logic for optimizing the long-term mechanism.Closely following the strategic deployment laid out in recent"No.1 Central Document",this paper anchors the new stage of regular assistance for aligning efforts to consolidate and expand achievements in poverty alleviation with rural revitalization.It explores the feasible paths for the iterative optimization of the collaboration mechanism,and expounds its value as the core support for China's modernization construction and a Chinese paradigm for addressing unbalanced regional development worldwide.This study provides theoretical support and practical guidance for sustaining the governance effectiveness of regular precision assistance via eastern-western collaboration and steadily advancing common prosperity for all people.
