Objective:A scoping review of relevant studies on emotional inhibition in cancer patients was conducted to provide references for healthcare professionals in the prevention and management of severe psychological outcomes in cancer patients.Methods:In accordance with the reporting guidelines for scoping reviews,we systematically searched Chinese and English databases to identify literature related to emotional inhibition in cancer patients.The search timeframe spanned from the inception of each database to October 20,2025.Results:A total of 21 studies were included.Emotional inhibition in cancer patients was found to be at a moderate level,with three assessment tools for emotional inhibition employed in the included literature.The influencing factors were categorized into four dimensions:demographic factors,disease-related factors,psychosocial factors,and family factors.Interventional measures included Rosenthal effect-based intervention,e-health intervention,and spousal synchronous empowerment education,among others.Conclusions:Emotional suppression is prevalent among cancer patients with complex influencing factors.In the future,specific assessment tools for emotional suppression in cancer patients should be developed in the context of Chinese culture.Large-sample,multi-center longitudinal studies and intervention studies are urgently needed to reduce the occurrence of emotional suppression and improve the mental health of cancer patients.
