通过真空电弧熔炼和高能球磨方法制备了微米级别Al8Mn5金属间化合物粉末,采用扫描电子显微镜、X射线衍射、热重等表征手段分析Al8Mn5金属间化合物的成分、微观结构及热稳定性,结合耐蚀性实验和第一性原理计算研究Al8Mn5增强含铁杂质商用纯铝耐蚀性相关机理.结果表明:依照Al8Mn5化学式配比,利用真空电弧熔炼技术,成功制备块状Al8Mn5金属间化合物;块状Al8Mn5金属间化合物在高能球磨过程中未发生相变;Al8Mn5金属间化合物在900℃以前基本能保持稳定;将Al8Mn5化合物加入至含铁杂质商用纯铝中,可大幅提高纯铝耐蚀性;第一性原理计算表明Fe原子能取代Al8Mn5 晶体中Mn原子占位,形成热力学稳定的Al8(Mn,Fe)5置换固溶体.

Micron-scale Al8Mn5 intermetallic powder was prepared by vacuum arc melting and high-energy ball milling.The composition,microstructure,and thermal stability of the Al8Mn5 intermetallic were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,and differential thermal analysis.Combined with corrosion experiments and first-principles calculations,the mechanism by which Al8Mn5 addition enhances the corrosion resistance of commercial purity aluminum containing iron impurity was studied.The results show that bulk Al8Mn5 intermetallic was successfully prepared by vacuum arc melting according to its chemical formula.The bulk Al8Mn5 intermetallic does not undergo phase transformation during high-energy ball milling and remains stable before 900℃.Adding Al8Mn5 intermetallic to commercial purity aluminum containing iron impurity can greatly improve the corrosion resistance.First-principles calculations show that iron atoms can replace Mn atoms in the Al8Mn5 crystal and form an Al8(Mn,Fe)5 substitutional solid solution to improve the corrosion resistance of pure Al.
