华北燕辽地区中新元古界重大研究进展之一就是燕辽大火山岩省(1325 Ma)的发现.但以往研究认为,燕辽大火山岩省仅就位于下马岭组,未侵入到下马岭组之上层位.然而,近年来笔者在燕辽地区陆续发现侵入龙山组的辉绿岩床.为查明该辉绿岩是否与燕辽大火山岩省存在成因联系,并期望通过辉绿岩斜锆石定年研究,约束缺乏可靠年龄长达半个多世纪的龙山组年代地层归属,本研究基于侵入龙山组辉绿岩中的斜锆石,分别应用SIMS与SHRIMP方法开展定年研究.SIMS方法获得斜锆石 U-Pb的加权平均年龄1322±8 Ma;SHRIMP方法获得斜锆石 U-Pb加权平均年龄1304±8 Ma.两种定年方法获得高度一致的结果,并与燕辽大火山岩省年龄峰值完全吻合.基于该定年结果,并结合侵入龙山组辉绿岩和燕辽大火山岩省的时空展布、侵入接触关系、及其稀土配分模式等的综合研究与对比,本文认为,侵入龙山组辉绿岩应属于燕辽大火山岩省的组成部分,并且该定年结果厘定龙山组的地层时代为早于1322~1304 Ma的中元古代.研究成果实现了近半个多世纪以来华北"中新元古代"地层(龙山组)年代归属研究的突破性进展,并为深入理解元古宙以来藻类或真核类微生物演化是否具有Boring Billion演化规律等,提供了新的证据与年龄约束;同时拓展了燕辽大火山岩省的时空范围.

One of the significant researchadvances in the Meso-Neoproterozoic strata in the Yanliao area of North China is the discovery of the Yanliao Large Igneous Province(YLIP;~1325 Ma).Previous studies have suggested that the YLIP was emplaced only within the Xiamaling Formation and did not intrude into the overlying stratigraphic horizons.However,the authors have recently discovered diabase sills intruding into the Longshan Formation in the Yanliao area.To clarify whether these diabases are genetically related to the YLIP and to constrain the chronostratigraphic attribution of the Longshan Formation,which has lacked reliable age constraints for over half a century,this study conducted U-Pb geochronological analyses on baddeleyite extracted from the diabases intruding the Longshan Formation using secondary ion mass spectrometry(SIMS)and sensitive high-resolution ion microprobe(SHRIMP)methods.The SIMS method yielded a weighted mean 207Pb/208Pb age of 1322±8 Ma,while the SHRIMP method obtained a weighted mean 207Pb/208Pb age of 1304±8 Ma.The results from both dating methods are highly consistent with the peak magmatic activity of the YLIP reported in previous studies.Based on these geochronological results,combined with a comprehensive investigation of spatiotemporal distribution,intrusive contact relationships,and rare earth element(REE)distribution patterns between the diabases intruding the Longshan Formation and the YLIP,this study concludes that the diabases intruding the Longshan Formation are part of the YLIP.Furthermore,these dating results define the stratigraphic age of the Longshan Formation as the Mesoproterozoic,predating 1322~1304 Ma.This research achieves a breakthrough in the study of the chronostratigraphic attribution of the"Meso-Neoproterozoic"Longshan Formation in North China,a long-standing puzzle that has persisted for more than half a century.It also provides new evidence and age constraints for understanding whether the evolution of eukaryotic microorganisms(including algae)during the Proterozoic follows the"Boring Billion"(1.8~0.8 Ga)evolutionary pattern.while simultaneously expanding the spatio-temporal scope of the YLIP.
