白云鄂博地区金伯利岩岩石学、地球化学及石榴子石研究意义OA
Significance of study on petrology,geochemistry and garnet of kimberlite in Bayan Obo area
哥伦比亚超大陆裂解是前寒武纪板块构造与地壳动力演化的关键过程,华北克拉通北缘发育的中元古代裂谷系完整记录了这一重大地质事件.白云鄂博裂谷作为华北陆块北缘重要的陆缘裂谷带,其深部岩浆作用与超大陆裂解、克拉通构造演化的耦合关系尚不明确.本文以白云鄂博地区金伯利岩为研究对象,通过野外地质调查、岩石学、地球化学及石榴子石矿物学系统分析,探讨其成因、构造背景及成矿意义.白云鄂博金伯利岩呈岩脉/岩筒状产出,侵位于中元古代白云鄂博群比鲁特组,具斑状结构与角砾状结构,发育蛇纹石化、滑石化、碳酸盐化等蚀变.全岩地球化学显示,岩石SiO2 含量31.5%~42.9%,MgO 29.7%~36.8%,Mg#≈0.93,TiO2 普遍偏低,属深源富镁贫钛超基性岩;稀土总量较低,轻稀土显著富集,具明显Eu负异常,原始岩浆特征保存良好,与蒙阴、瓦房店含矿金伯利岩地球化学特征高度可比.金伯利岩中石榴子石以铁铝榴石为主(66%~67%),具高FeO、Al2O3,低 MgO、CaO特征,归属角闪岩相G4型地壳成因石榴子石.温压计算显示,石榴子石形成温度791±50~876±50℃,压力约1.4±0.3 GPa,对应地幔热流约60 mW/m2,高于典型古老克拉通,指示岩石圈伸展减薄背景.本文认为,白云鄂博金伯利岩由华北克拉通北缘石榴子石二辉橄榄岩经低程度部分熔融形成,其产出受控于哥伦比亚超大陆裂解引发的中元古代伸展构造环境.目前已发现的139粒金刚石及石榴子石、尖晶石、透辉石等指示矿物佐证了该区金刚石成矿条件较好,具有金刚石找矿潜力.
The breakup of the Columbia supercontinent is a key process in Precambrian plate tectonics and crustal geodynamic evolution.The Mesoproterozoic rift systems developed on the northern margin of the North China Craton(NCC)provide an extensive record of this major geological event.Although the Bayan Obo rift is a significant epicontinental rift zone on the northern margin of the NCC,as an important epicontinental rift zone on the northern margin of the North China Block,the relationship between its deep-seated magmatism,supercontinent breakup,and cratonic tectonic evolution remains unclear.This paper investigates kimberlites in the Bayan Obo area,discussing their petrogenesis,tectonic setting,and metallogenic significance through systematic analyses of field geological survey,petrology,geochemistry,and garnet mineralogy.The Bayan Obo kimberlites occur as dykes or pipes intruding the Bilute Formation of the Mesoproterozoic Bayan Obo Group;they exhibit porphyritic and brecciated textures,with significant alteration such as serpentinization,talcization,and carbonatization.Whole-rock geochemistry shows that the rocks have SiO2 contents of 31.5%~42.9%,MgO of 29.7%~36.8%,Mg#≈0.9,and generally low TiO2,consistent with deep-seated Mg-rich and Ti-poor ultramafic rocks.They are characterized by low total rare earth element(REE)contents,significant light REE enrichment,and distinct negative Eu anomalies,well preserving primitive magma signatures that correlate well with the ore-bearing kimberlites in Mengyin and Wafangdian.Garnets in the kimberlites are dominated by almandine(66%~67%),with high FeO and Al2O3 and low MgO and CaO,classified as amphibolite-facies Type G4 crust-derived garnets.Geothermobarometry yields garnet formation temperatures of 791±50 to 876±50℃and pressures of ca.1.4±0.3 GPa,corresponding to a mantle heat flow of ca.60 mW/m2.This heat flow is higher than that of typical ancient cratons,indicating an extensional setting characterized by lithospheric thinning setting.This study suggests that the Bayan Obo kimberlites originated from low-degree partial melting of garnet lherzolite in the lithospheric mantle of the northern NCC and formed in a Mesoproterozoic extensional tectonic regime triggered by the breakup of the Columbia supercontinent.A total of 139 diamond grains and indicator minerals,such as garnet,spinel,and diopside,have been discovered in this area,indicating favorable metallogenic conditions and great prospecting potential for diamonds.
