Professor Ji Hongfang's book,A History of Modern Literary Relations Between the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong over the Past Century:A Study of Southern Migrant Writers,adopts systems theory and holism as its theoretical framework.Through both diachronic and synchronic approaches,it reveals the interactive dynamic of"shared origins yet divergent streams,complementary coexistence"between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong modern literature over the past century.Taking Southern Migrant Writers as the nexus,the book systematically examines the integration and differentiation of literary scenes across six historical stages,thereby transcending the limitations of the"Central Plains-centric mentality"and the"Hong Kong-centric perspective"to construct a holistic view of cross-regional literary relations.The core innovation of this work lies in filling the gap in systematic research and countering narratives of political division with literary interaction,thus possessing both academic value and practical significance.This article reviews the book from the perspectives of theoretical innovation,methodological innovation,and academic contribution,while offering suggestions for future research directions.
