Research on the evaluation of agricultural and rural development outcomes serves as an important means of optimizing policies,improving governance capacity,and promoting the high-quality development of agriculture and rural areas.Based on bibliometric research and employing the methods of trend analysis,collaboration network analysis,and keyword co-occurrence analysis,this paper reviews research on the evaluation of agricultural and rural development outcomes in China from 1990 to November 2024.The findings show that early studies mainly focused on evaluating agricultural development outcomes,while studies in the middle stage exhibited diversification in evaluation objects and a scattered distribution pattern.In recent years,a gradual shift toward comprehensive and systematic evaluation has emerged.In terms of evaluation indicators,the field has evolved from single-indicator approaches to multi-indicator systems,while the scope of evaluation has expanded from the single dimension of agricultural production to multiple dimensions covering both agricultural and rural development.In terms of evaluation directions,the previous studies include assessing development outcomes at spatial scales ranging from the national to provincial and county levels,comparing domestic and international levels of agricultural and rural development,and evaluating the effects of specific policy interventions.In terms of evaluation practices,the studies have evolved from early value-assessment paradigms centered on work summaries to technology-oriented evaluations incorporating quantitative analysis,eventually forming systematic comprehensive evaluations that combine quantitative and qualitative analyses,as well as effectiveness summaries and level measurements.
