东亚小花蝽对马铃薯块茎蛾和番茄潜叶蛾的适合度及捕食能力比较OA
Comparative fitness and predatory capacity of Orius sauteri against Phthorimaea operculella and Phthorimaea absoluta
马铃薯块茎蛾(Phthorimaea operculella)与番茄潜叶蛾(Phthorimaea absoluta)作为同属近缘种,在形态、生理及生态位上高度相似,并且在我国田间共同为害马铃薯等茄科作物.本研究以具有重要生物防治潜力的捕食性天敌东亚小花蝽(Orius sauteri)为研究对象,结合捕食功能反应与两性生命表分析,系统评估了其对这2种近缘害虫的控害效能.结果表明,东亚小花蝽5龄若虫及成虫对2种近缘害虫卵和初孵幼虫的捕食功能反应均符合Holling-Ⅱ模型,但存在显著的物种与虫态差异性:其对潜叶蛾卵的捕食能力显著强于块茎蛾卵,而对初孵幼虫的捕食则表现为块茎蛾显著优于潜叶蛾;各虫态搜寻效应均随猎物密度增加而下降,且受天敌发育阶段及猎物种类影响.东亚小花蝽取食2种近缘害虫卵均可完成完整生活史,但以块茎蛾卵为食时表现更优:发育历期显著缩短、成虫寿命延长、单雌产卵量显著提高,并因此获得更短的平均世代周期及更高的内禀增长率和周限增长率,种群增长潜力显著增强.综上所述,东亚小花蝽对这2种近缘害虫均具控害潜力,但其效能及种群支持作用存在种间差异,其中马铃薯块茎蛾卵作为食源更具优势,本研究结果为利用东亚小花蝽防控马铃薯等茄科作物上混合发生的这2种近缘害虫提供了理论依据.
Phthorimaea operculella and Phthorimaea absoluta,which are closely related congeneric species,exhibit high similarity in morphology,physiology,and ecological niche and coinfest potato in China.This study systematically evaluated the biocontrol efficacy of the predatory bug Orius sauteri,an important biological control agent,against these two closely related pests by combining analyses of the predatory functional response and two-sex life table.The results demonstrated that the predatory functional responses of both 5th instar nymphs and adults of O.sauteri preying on the eggs and neonate larvae of both pests conformed to the Holling-Ⅱ model but exhibited interspecific and stage-specific variations.O.sauteri exhibited significantly stronger predation capacity on P.absoluta eggs than on P.operculella eggs,whereas its predation on neonate larvae was significantly higher for P.operculella than for P.absoluta.The search effect of all predator stages decreased with increasing prey density and was influenced by both the predator's developmental stages and prey species.O.sauteri can complete its entire life cycle when fed on the eggs of either of the two closely related pest species.However,its performance was superior when fed P.operculella eggs:its development time was significantly shortened,its adult longevity was extended,and its fecundity(eggs per single female)was significantly increased.Consequently,this animal diet resulted in a shorter mean generation time(T)and higher values for the intrinsic rate of increase(r)and finite rate of increase(λ),indicating a significantly enhanced population growth potential.In conclusion,O.sauteri possesses biocontrol potential against both closely related pest species,but the efficacy and population support capability differ between them.P.operculella eggs proved to be a more advantageous food resource.These findings provide a theoretical basis for utilizing O.sauteri to manage mixed infestations of these two closely related pests on solanaceous crops.
