Bibliometric and visual analysis of ferroptosis research in ischemic stroke

目的 分析缺血性卒中铁死亡相关领域的研究现状、热点及趋势.方法 基于Web of Science核心合集数据库检索建库至2025年12月8日发表的缺血性卒中铁死亡相关文献.利用CiteSpace软件分析国家、机构文献发表数量、中介中心性(>0.10为具有重要连接作用)、合作网络关系及关键词出现频次、共现关系、聚类和文献共被引情况.结果 (1)共纳入Web of Science数据库中缺血性卒中铁死亡相关文献413篇,首篇相关文献发表于2017年.2017-2025年缺血性卒中铁死亡相关文献发表数量呈持续快速上升趋势.(2)共21个国家发表缺血性卒中铁死亡相关文献,其中中国相关文献发表数量位居首位(355篇),美国(17篇)、德国(7篇)、印度(5篇)及加拿大、日本、英国(均3篇)文献发表数量分别位居第2、3、4、5位.发表相关文献的国家形成了一定的跨国合作关系,其中德国和荷兰的中介中心性最高,均为0.38,加拿大(0.34)和中国(0.31)的中介中心性分别位居第2、3位.(3)共161家机构发表缺血性卒中铁死亡相关文献,文献发表数量排名前20位的机构均来自中国,其中前10位的机构依次为湖南中医药大学(24篇),中南大学(21篇)、武汉大学(18篇)、首都医科大学和浙江大学(均17篇)、哈尔滨医科大学(16篇)、南京中医药大学(15篇)、四川大学(14篇)、复旦大学和吉林大学(均12篇).文献发表机构间合作以国内机构间合作为主,中介中心性排名前5位的机构依次为中国中医科学院(0.45)、福建医科大学(0.42)、广州中医药大学(0.38)、河南中医药大学(0.37)和南昌大学(0.34).(4)出现频次排名前10位的关键词为 oxidative stress(氧化应激;126 次)、cell death(细胞死亡;124 次)、lipid peroxidation(脂质过氧化;100 次)、iron(铁;67 次)、glutathione peroxidase 4(谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶 4;41 次)、apoptosis(凋亡;31 次)、inflammation(炎症;26 次)、iron metabolism(铁代谢;20 次)、iron overload(铁超载;16 次)和autophagy(自噬;16次),上述高频关键词在相关文献中存在较为密切的共现关系.相关文献的关键词聚类主要包括氧化应激(oxidative stress)、血-脑屏障(blood-brain barrier)、长链脂酰辅酶A合成酶长链家族成员4(ACSL4)、铁死亡抑制蛋白1(FSP1)和天麻素(gastrodin).(5)共被引频次排名前3位的文献分别为 2021年发表于 Brain Behavior and Immunity 的文献 ACSL4 exacerbates ischemic stroke by promoting ferroptosis-induced brain injury and neuroinflammation(123 次)、2021年发表于 Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology 的文献 Ferroptosis:mechanisms,biology and role in disease(95 次)和 2020年发表于 Cell Death and Disease 的文献 Ferroptosis:past,present and future(89 次).结论 缺血性卒中铁死亡相关文献发表数量呈持续增长趋势,中国相关文献发表数量位居首位,德国和荷兰在国家合作网络中具有较强连接作用.当前该领域研究热点主要集中于氧化应激、脂质过氧化、铁代谢、谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶4及相关细胞死亡过程.氧化应激、血-脑屏障、ACSL4、FSP1和天麻素等研究方向受到关注.

Objective To analyze the current research status,hotspots,and trends of ferroptosis-related studies in ischemic stroke.Methods Literatures on ferroptosis in ischemic stroke published from database inception to December 8,2025 were retrieved from the Web of Science core collection.CiteSpace software was used to analyze publication output by country and institution,betweenness centrality(>0.10 indicated an important bridging role),collaboration networks,keyword frequency,keyword co-occurrence,keyword clustering,and co-cited references.Results(1)A total of 413 publications related to ferroptosis in ischemic stroke in the Web of Science database were included,with the first related publication published in 2017.From 2017 to 2025,the publication output of ferroptosis-related publications in ischemic stroke showed a continuous and rapid upward trend.(2)A total of 21 countries published ferroptosis-related publications in ischemic stroke.China ranked first in publication output with 355 publications,followed by the United States(17 publications),Germany(7 publications),India(5 publications),and Canada,Japan,and the United Kingdom(3 publications each),ranking 2nd,3rd,4th,and 5th in publication output,respectively.The contributing countries formed a certain degree of international collaboration,among which Germany and the Netherlands had the highest betweenness centrality,both at 0.38,followed by Canada(0.34)and China(0.31),ranking 2nd and 3rd in betweenness centrality,respectively.(3)A total of 161 institutions published ferroptosis-related publications in ischemic stroke.The top 20 institutions by publication output were all from China.The top 10 institutions in order included Hunan University of Chinese Medicine(24 publications),Central South University(21 publications),Wuhan University(18 publications),Capital Medical University and Zhejiang University(17 publications each),Harbin Medical University(16 publications),Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine(15 publications),Sichuan University(14 publications),and Fudan University and Jilin University(12 publications each).Institutional collaboration was mainly domestic.The top 5 institutions in betweenness centrality were in order:the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences(0.45),Fujian Medical University(0.42),Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine(0.38),Henan University of Chinese Medicine(0.37),and Nanchang University(0.34).(4)The top 10 keywords by frequency were oxidative stress(126 times),cell death(124 times),lipid peroxidation(100 times),iron(67 times),glutathione peroxidase 4(GPX4,41 times),apoptosis(31 times),inflammation(26 times),iron metabolism(20 times),iron overload(16 times),and autophagy(16 times).These high-frequency keywords showed close co-occurrence relationships in the included publications.Keyword clustering of related publications mainly included oxidative stress,blood-brain barrier,Acyl-CoA synthetase long-chain family member 4(ACSL4),ferroptosis suppressor protein 1(FSP1),and gastrodin.(5)The top 3 co-cited references were ACSL4 exacerbates ischemic stroke by promoting ferroptosis-induced brain injury and neuroinflammation,published in Brain Behavior and Immunity in 2021(123 citations),Ferroptosis:mechanisms,biology and role in disease,published in Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology in 2021(95 citations),and Ferroptosis:past,present and future,published in Cell Death and Disease in 2020(89 citations).Conclusions The publication output of ferroptosis-related research in ischemic stroke has shown sustained growth trend.China ranked first in publication output,while Germany and the Netherlands showed stronger connecting roles in the national collaboration network.Current research hotspots in this field mainly focus on oxidative stress,lipid peroxidation,iron metabolism,GPX4,and related cell death processes.Research directions such as oxidative stress,blood-brain barrier,ACSL4,FSP1,and gastrodin have received attention.
