Pain is one of the common symptoms in patients with cancer.Inadequately controlled pain causes substantial suffering and severely impairs physical functioning,psychosocial well-being,and overall quality of life.However,undertreatment of cancer pain remains a serious challenge both in China and worldwide.In response,the Committee of Cancer Rehabilitation and Palliative Care of Shanghai Anti-Cancer Association convened domestic experts in the field of cancer pain management.Building upon the"Shanghai expert consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of cancer pain(2017 edition)",and incorporating the latest evidence-based medical data from both domestic and international sources,while fully considering the characteristics of clinical practice in China(particularly in Shanghai),the committee developed the"Shanghai expert consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of cancer pain(2026 edition)".The updated consensus introduces the concept of standardized whole-course cancer pain management,emphasizing early identification and timely intervention for cancer pain,while advocating multidisciplinary collaboration and multimodal integrated treatment strategies.It also systematically updates recent advances in pharmacological management of cancer pain,further optimizing the standardized use of opioids and the management of opioid-related adverse events.In addition,the consensus incorporates recommendations on the rational use of opioids in special populations and management strategies for specific types of cancer pain,while encouraging the innovative application of digital healthcare tools throughout the continuum of cancer pain management.This consensus aimed to provide healthcare professionals with clinically practical and scientifically robust guidance for cancer pain management,thereby improving patients'dignity and quality of life.
