复合/滑动钻井钻头与页岩气难钻地层岩石相互作用关系OA

Interaction between composite/slide drilling bits and rocks in hard-to-drill shale gas formations

四川盆地南部地区地质结构复杂、地层古老、目的层埋藏深,钻井过程中难钻地层寒武系中统陡坡寺组、寒武系下统龙王庙组、寒武系下统沧浪浦组岩石抗压强度大于145 MPa,岩石可钻性差,造斜段导向钻具造斜率低,造斜钻进时机械钻速仅有0.96 m/h.为了提高上述难钻地层的机械钻速、缩短钻井周期,以岩心及野外露头为研究对象,开展了岩石力学与可钻性实验,建模分析了PDC钻头受力特征和岩石特征.研究结果表明:①所建立的PDC钻头切削破岩动力学模拟分析模型,能为钻头高切削效率的布齿方案提供优化方向;②通过建立离散元数值模型,明确了岩石各向异性在PDC切削作用下的破碎机制,在相关影响因素当中,钻压对切削力影响最大,其次为转速、前倾角、排量;③评估了岩石各向异性对钻头切削力的相互作用影响指数评估结果显示,较之于滑动钻井,复合钻井时侧切力较滑动钻井更低,破岩效率更高.结论认为:①斧形齿+三棱/斧形齿混合布齿、前后排高度差≤1 mm的方案更有利于难钻硬地层钻井提速;②钻井参数上需优先控制钻压,采用小前倾角、中等转速,更有利于提高钻井造斜效率;③现场应用优化后的6刀翼混合布齿钻头,钻速较前期提升70%.

The southern Sichuan Basin is characterized by complex geological structure,ancient formations,and deeply buried target horizons.Especially in hard-to-drill formations such as the Middle Cambrian Douposi Formation,Lower Cambrian Longwangmiao Formation,and Lower Cambrian Canglangpu Formation,the rock compressive strength exceeds 145 MPa,resulting in poor drillability.In the build-up sections,the steerable drilling assembly yields low build-up rate,leading to a rate of penetration(ROP)of only 0.96 m/h during build-up drilling.To enhance the ROP and reduce the drilling period,rock mechanics and drillability experiments were conducted targeting core samples and field outcrops.Furthermore,the force distribution characteristics of PDC bits and the rock properties were analyzed by modeling.The following results are obtained.(i)The established rock-breaking dynamics simulation model of PDC bit provides optimization guidance for cutter layout to achieve high cutting efficiency.(ii)The developed discrete element numerical model clarifies the fragmentation mechanism of anisotropic rocks under PDC cutting.It is revealed that weight on bit(WOB)is the most influential factor on cutting force,followed by rotation speed,front rake angle,and flow rate.(iii)The evaluation on effect index for interaction between rock anisotropy and bit cutting force shows that the lateral cutting force in composite drilling is lower than that in slide drilling,resulting in higher rock-breaking efficiency.It is concluded that:(1)the optimized design combining axe-shaped cutters with triangular prism/axe-shaped hybrid cutter arrangements,maintaining a height difference≤1 mm between front and rear rows,significantly enhances ROP in hard-to-drill formations;(2)in terms of drilling parameters,WOB control,in conjunction with small front rake angle and medium rotation speed,helps improve build-up efficiency;and(3)field applications of the optimized 6-blade hybrid cutter bit demonstrates a 70%improvement in ROP.
