以城之名:体旅融合驱动旅游经济高质量发展的机制与效能OACHSSCD

Sports tourism integration is an important pathway for promoting high quality regional tourism development.By embedding sports functions into the tourism sector,optimizing the tourism industrial structure,and extending service chains,it helps shift tourism development from extensive expansion toward intensive growth driven by improvements in total factor productivity.Based on panel data from 273 Chinese prefecture-level cities from 2011 to 2024,this study measures tourism total factor productivity(TFP)using the DEA-Malmquist index,treats the establishment of national sports tourism demonstration bases as a quasi-natural experiment,and constructs a staggered difference-in-differences model to identify its policy effect and underlying mechanisms.The construction of national sports tourism demonstration bases significantly improves urban tourism TFP,suggesting that sports tourism integration can promote high quality tourism development by improving factor allocation efficiency and resource use efficiency,and this conclusion remains robust across multiple ro-bustness checks.The policy operates mainly through two mechanisms,namely industrial structure optimization and technological innovation capacity en-hancement,and produces stronger effects in cities southeast of the Huhuanyong Line,non tourism resource endowed cities,resource based cities,and cities in the central and western regions.Future demonstration bases construction should move beyond symbolic designation and project based implementation,with greater emphasis placed on strengthening the supply of core sports functions,improving the efficiency of sports tourism integration,and extending sports service chains,thereby promoting the coordinated development of sporting events,recreational activities,and scenario based consumption.
