Diabetic pruritus is one of the most common complications in patients with diabetes,frequently occurring in middle-aged and elderly individuals.Clinically,it is characterized by a prolonged course and variable symptom severity.The exact pathogenesis of the condition has not yet been fully elucidated,and modern Western medicine currently lacks targeted therapies.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),however,has shown unique advantages in its treatment.Through long-term clinical practice,Deputy Chief Physician YANG Li identified the main pathogenesis as yin deficiency with wind,obstruction of the collaterals by toxins and pathogenic factors,and disharmony between the nutritive and defensive qi.Modified Simiao Yong'an Decoction has been applied with notable clinical efficacy.The author had the privilege of learning from Deputy Chief Physician YANG Li and observed her unique insights into the diagnosis and treatment of this condition.This article systematically summarizes her approach to syndrome differentiation and medication characteristics,providing a reference for clinical practice.
