数理考古的理论与方法OA
The Theory and Method of Mathematical Archaeology
数理考古有别于科技考古,是史学研究范式的一次扩张,在万物皆数和数学实践哲学的学理基础上,将数、图形、符号等数据作为史料,通过数据采集、结构分析、数学建模、实作检验和意义阐释五个步骤,揭示文献、遗存所蕴含数据的历史意义.其中,数据与模型是数理考古的两个基本概念,数据分析是数理考古的基础,基于数据分析进行的数学建模是数理考古的核心.通过四个案例说明数理考古中数学建模的不同方式,以示例其在历史研究和考古发掘中的应用和重要性.
Mathematical archaeology,distinct from scientific archaeology,represents an expansion of the research paradigm in historical studies.Based on the theoretical foundations of"everything is number"and the philosophy of mathematical practice,it treats quantitative data,graphics,symbols and other data as historical sources.Following five core procedures—data collection,structural analysis,mathematical modeling,practical verification and interpretative analysis of historical implications—it reveals the historical significance of data embedded in literature and remains.Among these processes,data analysis serves as the foundation of mathematical archaeology,while mathematical modeling based on data analysis constitutes its core.This paper clarifies two basic concepts in mathematical archaeology:data and models;illustrates diverse approaches to mathematical modeling in this field through four case studies;and demonstrates the application and significance of Chen Qi's"three circles and three squares"cosmic model in historical research and archaeological excavation.
