National Digital Economy Innovation Zones and the Low-carbon Transition of Energy Structure

本文基于 2010~2024 年中国省域面板数据,将国家数字经济创新发展试验区设立作为一项准自然实验,使用双重机器学习方法,实证分析其对能源结构低碳转型的影响及内在机制.研究发现,数创区设立能够推动能源结构低碳转型,且该结论在经过一系列稳健性检验后仍然成立.机制分析表明,数创区设立能够通过产业协同集聚效应与绿色金融发展效应推动能源结构低碳转型.异质性分析表明,在工业化水平、创新水平与政府效能水平高的地区,数创区设立对能源结构低碳转型的影响更明显.本文研究为理解数字经济发展与可持续发展的内在联系提供了重要的经验证据与政策启示.

Using provincial panel data in China from 2010 to 2024,this study treats the establishment of National Digital E-conomy Innovation Zones as a quasi-natural experiment and employs a double machine learning approach to empirically examine their impact on the low-carbon transition of the energy structure and the underlying mechanisms.The results show that the establish-ment of these zones significantly promotes the low-carbon transition of the energy structure,and this finding remains robust across a series of checks.Mechanism analysis indicates that the effect operates through industrial collaborative agglomeration and the deve-lopment of green finance.Heterogeneity analysis suggests that the policy effect is more pronounced in regions with higher levels of industrialization,innovation capacity,and government efficiency.This study provides important empirical evidence and policy in-sights for understanding the intrinsic linkages between digital economy development and sustainable development.
