客户企业数字化转型能否促进供应商企业创新信息披露?OACHSSCD

Can customer firms'digital transformation promote suppliers'innovation information disclosure?From the perspective of peer effects

数字化转型是驱动新质生产力高质量培育的重要抓手.探讨数字化转型赋能企业创新的供应链传导机制,对于深化供应链"链式"数字化转型和纾解企业创新信息困境具有重要的理论和现实意义.文章基于供应链同群效应视角,以2012-2023 年 A 股上市公司供应链数据为样本,实证检验客户企业数字化转型对供应商企业创新信息披露的影响效果和作用机制.研究发现:客户企业数字化转型显著提升了供应商企业创新信息披露水平,有助于纾解供应商企业创新信息困境,且该结论在一系列内生性处理和稳健性检验后依然成立.同群效应在其中发挥了中介作用:一是直接同群效应,客户企业数字化转型推动自身创新信息披露水平提升,并沿供应链传递促使供应商企业加强创新信息披露;二是间接同群效应,客户企业数字化转型带动上游供应商企业数字化转型,进而促进其创新信息披露.异质性检验结果表明,当客户企业与供应商企业存在共同机构持股、地理邻近及合作关系较为密切时,数字化转型的供应链创新信息纾困效应更为显著.研究结论总体证实了数字化转型具有供应链创新信息纾困效应,为理解数字化转型在供应链中的传导机制提供了新视角,也为政府与企业破解创新信息披露难题、推动高质量发展提供了经验证据和政策启示.

Digital transformation has become a key driver for fostering high-quality development of new productive forces.Exploring the supply chain transmission mechanism through which digital transformation empowers corporate innovation is of both theoretical and practical significance for deepening"chain-based"digital transformation and alleviating firms'innovation information constraints.From the perspective of peer effects within supply chains,this study employs supply chain data of A-share listed companies from 2012 to 2023 to empirically examine the impact and mechanisms of customer firms'digital transformation on suppliers'innovation information disclosure.The findings indicate that customer firms'digital transformation significantly enhances suppliers'innovation information disclosure,thereby mitigating suppliers'information constraints related to innovation.These results remain robust after a series of endogeneity treatments and robustness tests.Peer effects play a mediating role in this process.First,a direct peer effect exists:digital transformation improves customer firms'own level of innovation information disclosure,which is then transmitted along the supply chain,encouraging suppliers to increase their disclosure.Second,an indirect peer effect operates:digital transformation of customer firms promotes upstream suppliers'digital transformation,which in turn enhances their innovation information disclosure.Heterogeneity analysis further reveals that the supply chain information alleviation effect is more pronounced when customer and supplier firms share common institutional ownership,are geographically proximate,or maintain closer cooperative relationships.Overall,the results confirm that digital transformation generates a supply chain-based alleviation effect on innovation information constraints.This study provides a new perspective for understanding the transmission mechanisms of digital transformation within supply chains and offers empirical evidence and policy implications for governments and firms seeking to address challenges in innovation information disclosure and promote high-quality development.
