Objective To explore the research trends,core themes,and development directions of acupuncture therapy in the field of benign prostatic hyperplasia.Methods Literature related to benign prostatic hyperplasia acupuncture treatment was retrieve from the databases.A total of 338 articles were included.Bibliometric analysis and visual analysis were performed on the included literature.Results Annual publication volume showed an upward trend,peaking in 2021.Core authors such as Zhan Min and Yang Tao contributed significantly,while Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine emerged as a high-yield institution,though cross-institutional collaboration remained limited.High-frequency keywords included"prostatic hyperplasia"and"electroacupuncture".Research focused on acupoint selection patterns and therapy optimization.Efficacy evaluation shifted from single effectiveness rates to multidimensional indicators such as international prostate symptom scores and residual urine volume.Conclusion Research on acupuncture for benign prostatic hyperplasia is rapidly advancing.Future studies should strengthen cross-institutional collaboration,integrate modern technologies to explore objective efficacy indicators,and optimize clinical protocols.
